Zimri Lawrence papers, 1797-1860.

Folder 1 contains land deeds in Weybridge, Vt. (1797-1860), almost all for land purchased or sold by Zimri Lawrence, but a few concern sales by other individuals of land which probably belonged at one time or another to Lawrence. Folder 2 contains family correspondence, chiefly letters to Zimri or his wife Asenath from numerous relatives; some letters echanged by sons Zimri, Jr., and Edwin, and daughters Electa (Lawrence) Dickinson and Amanda (Lawrence) Buell.

Zimri Lawrence, originally of Canaan, Conn., settled by the mid-1890s in Weybridge, Vt., where he appears to have been a large landowner. Zimri and his wife, Asenath Lawrence, had at least two sons, Zimri, Jr., who settled in Michigan and Edwin, who lived in Middlebury, Vt.
